Our Streatham Nursery.
One of the most important choices any parent has to make is selection of the right nursery, pre-school or childcare service for their child. This is a time when babies and toddlers may start to spend significant time away from home, in a brand new environment – so the setting needs to be right for them. It also needs to provide the very best learning opportunities, development support and personalised care available. Little Cedars, is a high quality day nursery in Streatham and ticks all of those boxes.
The wellbeing of children at Little Cedars.
The wellbeing of babies and children is the top priority at Little Cedars, so the setting is extremely safe and secure, with the highest levels of safeguarding protocols all in place. Indeed, the EYFS framework that we adhere to includes safeguarding as a key component. Staff are very carefully chosen and well-trained. Staff-to-child ratios are also carefully managed and optimised so that every child receives the level of individual attention that they deserve.
A welcoming and nurturing childcare setting.
Little Cedars has a very welcoming and nurturing environment, with warm and well-trained staff that are personable and very caring. Babies are settled into their own tranquil area and older children have different rooms and zones, appropriately equipped depending upon age.
Every child is also assigned a Key Worker, who monitors progress continuously and customises the learning programmes, developmental support and care needed for each individual child. These are tailored because every child is unique and will learn and develop at a different speed.
By customising according to their unique abilities and pace, each child will have the opportunity to achieve their own personal bests in every area of learning and development. In this way, they should become the very best version of themselves physically, emotionally, educationally and socially in readiness to begin school when they reach the age of five.
Exceptional equipment and facilities.
The nursery is extremely well resourced, with exceptional nursery facilities both inside and out. Inside, rooms are bright and airy and the entire environment is fun, stimulating and educational. There are extensive facilities and carefully-chosen equipment available for all age groups to explore.
The same is true in our very impressive outdoor play area, where children can learn new skills and improve upon their physical abilities as they explore the extensive equipment available. Children also love caring for the nursery’s animals and growing vegetables in our vegetable patch!
Learning through play.
Children learn mainly through structured play and are able to explore the many learning opportunities around the nursery. Little Cedars makes learning fun, so that it comes naturally — the very best way — helping them to learn as much as possible, discover new skills, improve existing abilities and increase independence and self-confidence.
Opening times.
Little Cedars offers weekday childcare service for babies from 3 months to children aged 5. The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year between 7.45am and 6.15pm, Monday to Friday. We only close for Bank/Public Holidays, one inset day per term and for the week between Christmas and New Year.
